The second entrance also helps streamline event operations and improve the experience for guests during high-volume events.
Built to Compete

A Destination for Competition
Since opening in January 2014, the Round Rock Sports Center has grown into a premier destination for local, regional, and national sporting events. The facility welcomes more than 70,000 players and 120,000 spectators each year for tournaments, leagues, club sports, and other competitions. Over the years, it has hosted national championships and major events featuring basketball, volleyball, judo, fencing, dance, table tennis, and taekwondo.
Beyond the competition itself, these events contribute to Round Rock’s growing sports tourism industry. Thousands of athletes, families, coaches, and spectators visit the city for tournaments, supporting local hotels, restaurants, retail businesses, and other community partners. Since the Sports Center opened in 2014, Round Rock’s sports tourism program has generated more than $210 million in economic activity for the city.
These improvements make it easier than ever for Round Rock to welcome larger competitions and events. With expanded championship courts, comfortable spectator seating, cutting-edge video screens, flexible event space, ample parking, and more, visitors can enjoy an elevated experience from the moment they arrive. adding to the list of reasons why the Sports Center continues to make Round Rock a premierdestination for sports as the Sports Capital of Texas.

Investing in Round Rock’s Sports Future
The Sports Center expansion was part of Round Rock’s voter-approved $274 million bond package from May 2023, which included investments in recreation, quality-of-life improvements, and sports facilities throughout the city. Construction began in 2024 while the existing Sports Center remained operational, allowing events and programs to continue throughout the project.
The Sports Center’s latest improvements represent another significant investment in the city’s sports landscape. From youth tournaments and club competitions to high-profile national events, Round Rock continues to expand its ability to welcome competitors and fans from across Texas and beyond.
